How storage pricing works

Total Vault gives you 5 GB free, then bills storage by the terabyte — rounded up, with a 1 TB minimum. Here is exactly how partial terabytes are counted.

01Start free, then pay for what you keep

Every account starts with 5 GB free — no card required. That is a real account, not a demo: AI search, branded galleries, guest upload links, and RAW previews all work, capped only at 5 GB of storage.

When you are ready for more, you add a payment method and buy storage by the terabyte. There is no fixed plan size to outgrow and no per-file fee — you simply pay for the storage everything you've uploaded actually uses.

The free 5 GB is plenty to test a project end to end before you ever enter a card.

02The two plans

Both plans are usage-based and monthly — no annual contract. The difference is the per-TB rate and whether you bring a team.

  • Solo — $9.95 per TB per month. A single-user vault: everything you need to back up, search, and deliver your own work.
  • Pro — $14.95 per TB per month. Everything in Solo, plus white-label delivery, advanced roles and permissions, an audit log, and priority support. Pro includes 3 teammate seats, then $8.95 per teammate per month beyond that.

You can switch between Solo and Pro at any time. See the full breakdown and a calculator on the pricing page.

03How partial terabytes are billed

This is the question people ask most, so here is the exact rule: storage is billed in whole terabytes, rounded up, with a 1 TB minimum.

Two consequences fall out of that:

  • Any amount up to and including 1 TB bills as 1 TB — so 0.3 TB still bills 1 TB. That is the floor.
  • Anything over a whole terabyte rounds up to the next one — so 1.2 TB bills as 2 TB, and 2.1 TB bills as 3 TB.

On Solo that means 0.3 TB and 1 TB both cost $9.95 per month, while 1.2 TB costs $19.90. On Pro the same usage bills at the $14.95 rate. Teammates on Pro are billed separately at $8.95 each beyond the 3 included seats.

Rounding up only ever happens once, at the top — you are never billed for fractional terabytes, and the 1 TB minimum is the most you'll pay for a small archive.

04Questions about your bill

Pricing is monthly and you can cancel any time — there is no contract, and your files always stay yours. If you want to walk through the numbers for your own storage, the pricing page has a calculator, or reach us at support@totalvault.ai or through the contact page.
